The 2017-18 Home kit was launched in July 2017 at a photoshoot on the decks of RRS Discovery, with four young United fans chosen to reveal the new kit alongside four of the first team squad.
Based on Nike's most used template over the last couple of years, the Just Sport Pro produced shirt was again made with the latest Dri-FIT technology, and featured tangerine raglan sleeves with black stripes and side insets. Up the sides of the main body were black ribbed side stripes which displayed tangerine when stretched.
The black and tangerine embroidered Club badge accompanied the Nike swoosh on the front, above the main sponsor, McEwan Fraser Legal, who were now into the second year of their two year deal. JF Kegs, after extending their deal for a further two years replaced GA Engineering on the upper part of the back of the shirt, whilst also remaining on the right thigh of the shorts as they had done for the previous three seasons. Having worked closely with Dr Noodles for several years, United announced a new corporate partnership with the nationally renowned noodle bar in April, and the firm's logo featured on the lower part of the reverse of the shirt that JF Kegs had previously occupied.
The new home kit made its debut in the first competitive match of the season, at home to Raith Rovers in the League Cup group stages. Worn throughout a very frustrating season, it's last appearance was in the Premiership Play-Off semi-final with Livingston as United failed to gain promotion for the second successive season.
