First Worn:
Saturday October 28th, 2017 vs. Dumbarton (League)
Manufacturer:
Nike
Sponsor:
McEwan Fraser Legal
Launched before the end of the 2016-17 campaign, the plain all-black Nike kit was popular with United fans right from the off, even going on sale as early as the end of April.
Featuring the latest Dri-FIT technology and sporting an overlapping V-neck collar with a full tangerine crest on the chest, the main sponsor, McEwan Fraser Legal was also emblazoned in tangerine on the front. The famous Nike swoosh was in white, as were the name and numbers on the back of the shirt. Also on the back were JF Kegs and Dr Noodles, with both companies having just penned new sponsorship deals with the Club. With JF Kegs also on the black shorts, and Marine Safety Solution logo on the black shorts, the new kit was deemed to look equally good as a leisure item as an outfit worn on the football field by the team.
It's first appearance on the playing field was in a 2-0 win over Dumbarton in October 2017, and was worn regularly throughout the season. However, United lost more than they won wearing this kit, with its final appearance being a 2-3 defeat at Dumbarton in April 2018.
