Hall of Kits 2009-10 (Away)

First Worn:
Tuesday August 25th, 2009 vs. Alloa Athletic (League Cup)

Manufacturer:
Nike

Sponsor:
Carbrini Sportswear

It was announced in March 2009 that Nike had signed a deal with the Club to supply their kit for the next four years, starting with the 2009/10 season. The deal included the selling of Nike merchandise through the Club shop, which became operated by Nike UK's Just Sport football provider.

With the new kit deal in place, United launched their first Nike away top on July 24th, 2009.

Much like the home top (all-tangerine), the away kit was also along traditional lines featuring the specially designed Centenary logo, with the white shirt featuring narrow black bands across the chest, slightly reminiscent of the white and black hoops of the 50s. The top was complimented by all-white shorts and white socks with black tops.

The kit sponsorship from JD Sports continued on from the previous season, specifically the youth brand of Carbrini Sportswear, with a change in logo design from boxed to plain text. In addition, Dundee based cosmetic car repair specialists Dents8 agreed to a 2 year sponsorship deal, featuring their logo on the shorts and socks of the kit.

Although first worn in a League Cup match against Alloa Athletic, it took United until Saturday, October 24th to unveil the kit in league action, against Aberdeen.
