Hibs' victory over Forfar Athletic at Tannadice Park places the Dundee team at the top of the Northern League. Forfar provided a stubborn opposition. Time and again, when a little judicious passing on the part of Hibs would have been beneficial, the situation was saved by Skene and Gibb, the Forfar backs. Their shooting, too, was anything but deadly, and Burns missed one or two opportunities at the goalmouth in the initial stages. Gibb and Brown, the extreme wingers, were often in evidence. Burns was the scorer for Hibs on the two occasions.
In the second half, he sent in one or two "stingers" but Don proved an able custodian. The Hibs' defence were put to no severe test, and the half-back line, with Loney as leader, played a sturdy game. Taken all over, Hibs were the superior team, and with greater dash in the forward line, a larger score would have been inevitable. Boland kindly scored for Forfar through a misjudged effort.
