Match Report

Dundee A's victory over the Hibs at Tannadice Park on Saturday was a well-merited one. They exhibited from the outset signs of unmistakable superiority, and the four goals were netted in a manner which delighted their numerous supporters. The heavy ground evidently troubled the Hibs' forwards. Their spasmodic efforts to get off on their own were poor. The passing was without judgment, and very little allowance was given for the sticky pitch, with the result that many promising attacks failed miserably. The front rank were shaky, and received little support from the halves. Hannah and Gallacher were the mainstays of the defence, and cleared repeatedly. They early bore traces of their hard work, and Gallacher resembled a clay figure. The game was fast, and accidents were frequent. Referee Adams kept the players well in hand, and at the first signs of rough play, the individuals were promptly brought to book. Sheridan did well, but he got little rope from the opposing halves. The A's front rank were a hot lot, and Dinnie led them in capital style. They played a fine open game, and took advantage of every opposition slip. McCann made sure work of his first goal; in fact, the ball was in the net before Brady had time to make up his mind.
