League (Division Two)
Dundee Hibs paid their first visit to Coatbridge since their promotion to the Scottish League. They were opposed by Albion Rovers. The game was all through devoid of any interest. The Hibs had their usual team with the exception of Loney, who was ill, and his place was filled by Docherty. A new man was tried at half back. In the opening stages the Rovers did most of the pressing, and Chalmers was at first dangerous, but Monteith in succeeded in warding off his shot. Play got lifeless, and was a sorry comparison with that displayed the previous Saturday on the same ground. At the interval the game was a goalless one.
In the second half the home lot spurred up, when Hemphill, the Rovers forward, got a nasty knock. The Hibs now had an opportunity of scoring, but it seemed as if the posts were yards too narrow, so miserable an attempt was made. Later the Rovers were not a bit better, and a spiritless game ended in a draw with no goals being scored.
