Match Report

United's long unbeaten run came to an end in disappointing fashion at Easter Road. Yet,it might have turned out all so differently had Andy McLarens volley not come back off the post near the close of a first half dominated by United.

The game swung in Hibs direction when they were awarded a penalty after Steven Pressley was adjudged to have fouled Power in the box. An offence which saw United fall behind on the score-sheet and numerically as the United defender was deemed to be last man and shown a red card. Charnley drilled home the spot kick.

There was also dubiety after Hibs second when McGinlay netted after Lavety had strayed into an offside position, but the referee decided that he wasn't interfering with play and a Hibs victory was sealed!
