Match Report
Hibs were dominant in the first half and there was no surprise when they took the lead. Alan Gordon scored in the 29th minute. The first half corner tally of 11-1 in Hibs favour told it's own story. There was great shock therefore when United fired home an equaliser five minutes before the break. Jim Henry latching onto a good pass to crash home the leveller.
In the second half their superiority continued. However, United always looked dangerous on the break with Mitchell, Marklund and Henry all forcing Herriot into great saves. The goal Hibs deserved finally came with 6 minutes remaining. Brownlie found space to get in a cross and Alan Gordon headed home. Jackie Copland then deflected a Duncan shot past his own keeper right on the final whistle to seal the win for the Leith side.
