Match Report
Ibrox, not exactly a happy hunting in the past, continued that theme as we went two down after just 20 minutes.Tommy McLean was the instigator, setting up Colin Jackson to score in 17 minutes and then three minutes later the United boss's brother created the opening for Alex McDonald from 18 yards.
Hope was resurrected for United when Gordon Wallace's corner dropped at the feet of Paul Sturrock who wasted no time in knocking the ball past Kennedy.
Seven minutes into the second half and there was greater joy for Tannadice fans. John Greig pulled down Wallace in the box and Hamish McAlpine made the long journey from his goal to send Kennedy the wrong way from the spot. As time ran out we looked the liklier side to score and, duly did, in the 79th minute. A cross from Sturrock on the left found Gordon Wallace in the clear and his raging shot gave Kennedy no chance and secured our first Premier win at Ibrox.
