Match Report

The complete collapse of Dundee United at Tannadice before Hibernian bodes extremely ill for the future progress of the team, and although it is yet far too early to talk about relegation, United have only to reproduce the same form throughout the season to be assured of bidding farewell to the First Division.

Even taking their bad luck into consideration - and at times they had plenty of it - United played a very poor game, lacking initiative, cohesion, shooting ability, and, in in fact, all the qualities required by only a mediocre team. They were not beaten by a clever combination as Hibs, with a few exceptions, were a poor lot, and the game generally was as poor as has been seen on Tannadice in years.
