Newspaper extract from Sunday Post.
The 4000 crowd at Tannadice showed Dundee is still eager for senior football.
First half hour suggested the Fifers were going to run away with the game. There always seemed to be two wasp jerseys to each black and white. Only inept Methil finishing plus fine keeping by Kellar kept United on the hunt.
When this early offensive had exhausted itself the more haphazard homesters came out of their shell.
Man of the match was Polish national keeper, Kellar, who simply oozed confidence, although his slight penchant for punching the ball in the continental style worried the United faithful at times.
Both teams were strong at half back. Jimmy Simpson might have been a more dominating pivot, but he was no more effective than East Fife's Sneddon, who did a fine job without any fuss.
Vannet of United and Ferguson of East Fife were masters of the crafty forward pass.
