Match Report

The North-Eastern Cup final at Pittodrie, Aberdeen and a forces representative match in Glasgow supplemented the Southern League programme of games, and incidentally affected the composition of both teams in the latter.

The cup-tie proved the popular event of the day, 10000 spectators witnessing Aberdeen's successful effort in wiping out a deficit of three goals inflicted by their opponents, Dundee United, the previous Saturday. They ultimately won the trophy with a score of 6-2, which gave them an aggregate goal superiority of 7-6. Aberdeen, reinforced by the return of Hamilton in attack, and with Brown (Clyde) in goal, were throughout the superior team. Their opponents were without their leading forward Juliussen who was one of the conspicuous successes in the Army in Scotland v. A-A Command match, which the former won by three goals to one.
