Match report
The penalty hoodoo was around the United ranks at this time as this defeat could almost solely be attributed to not one but TWO spotkick failures at Love Street. Denis Gillespie missed the first before Jimmy Briggs repeated the act — both coming before half time. Dennis Gillespie somewhat atoned by giving United the lead on the hour mark, but replies from Bobby Ross and Therolf Beck earned Saints the points.
