Perhaps for the first time this season, we played the second half first, with a more impressive opening half than second period. A bright start was followed by something of a rally by Falkirk, but Iain Ferguson struck, in lethal fashion, twice in three minutes to kill off the Brockville challenge. A long throw by Gary McGinnis found Paul Sturrock in the clear near the bye-line. His cut-back was swept home by Iain Ferguson, lurking at the near post. Three minutes later Kevin Gallacher drilled in a cross which Iain Ferguson, standing in almost the spot lashed home.
After a lull in our performance for most of the second half, the introduction of substitutes Ralph Milne and Tommy Coyne rejuvenated us and the closing minutes brought a flurry of activity around the visiting goal, but no goals despite at least three further goal attempts by the deadly Fergie!
