Match Report
Deprived of the services of both Paul Sturrock and Ralph Milne, we slumped to our heaviest defeat of the season as a rampant Aberdeen cruised to a victory that almost certainly ensured that the League title will move up to Pittodrie.
Doug Rougvie began the catalogue of disasters after 10 minutes when he hooked the ball in from close range. A swerving Mark McGhee goal 17 minutes later consolidated Aberdeen's lead. John Reilly restored United hopes seven minutes later with a sweetly struck volley from 20 yards. Three minutes later, however, Mark McGhee headed in a third at the near post.
Although United had chances early in the second half, Aberdeen increased their lead through a Eric Black header and Doug Rougvie.
