A goal in three minutes by Ian Redford gave us the perfect start to what is always a tricky fixture. Stuart Beedie was the architect of that opening goal. Picking the ball up just outside the box he found Ian Redford unmarked on the left and his low angular drive beat Gallacher. Although in control for most of that first-half, the next real chance came right on the interval, when a superb one-handed save by Gallacher from a Hegarty header signalled the half-time whistle.
Without repeating their dominance after the re-start, we appeared in little danger of conceding a goal, with Ian Redford and Stuart Beedie both going close. Towards, the end, however, the Bankies stepped up their effort and this was rewarded when Mike Conroy stooped to head in a Moore cross.
