Biography


John signed provisionally from local side Butterburn Youth Club in October 1959 and then made a few reserve appearances. He joined Carnoustie Panmure before becoming a signed United player in July 1960. He was primarily a reserve and was released in May 1961.

He later moved to the Highlands where he worked as a history teacher.

John tragically died in the summer of 1976 aged 33, as a result of injuries sustained in a car accident.
