Signed from Kirkcaldy United, 'Henny' featured in the first ever Dundee Hibernian match against Edinburgh Hibs on 18th August 1909 and played in the (local) Northern League campaign but was released at the end of the season.

Although he only remained at the club for one season, he holds the distinction of scoring the club’s first ever “winning goal”, netting the only goal in the club’s first ever competitive victory, a 1-0 win against Montrose in the Northern League on the 28th August 1909.
