Biography

Chris began his playing days with local teams competing in East Kilbride youth football, playing mostly for Calderwood Bluestar. In 2005, he joined Scottish Junior side Kilbirnie Ladeside of North Ayrshire at the age of 18. Four years later he signed his first professional contract, joining Partick Thistle on a one year deal following a series of trial games. His form earned him a regular place under manager Ian McCall, and he remained a mainstay under new manager Jackie McNamara, winning a contract extension that would keep him at Firhill until 2013.

Jackie McNamara left Partick Thistle for United in February of the 2012/13 season, and on April 16th, Chris agreed to sign up with his former gaffer at United on a pre-contract. He joined up with his new colleagues during the following pre-season.

Chris made nine appearances during his first season and in January 2014 he was loaned out to his former club Partick Thistle for the remainder of the campaign. An impressive pre-season and a scoring start to the 2014-15 season saw him earn a regular place in the United starting lineup following his return. Under new manager Mixu Paatelainen he failed to make an impression and after a few months he agreed a pre-contract with former club Partick Thistle.
