Biography

Willie signed from local side St Joseph’s and made his debut for United as a trialist. After signing, he played often in the side over the remainder of 1956-57 and was retained for the next five seasons, becoming a regular for over two years. He was top scorer in 1958-59 but in the latter years of his United career he played mainly in the reserves and was transferred to Stirling Albion in March 1962 for a nominal fee.
