Biography

Frannie began his senior career with Chelsea but did not settle there and joined United, still just sixteen years old, where he would sign his first professional deal. He spent his first year at Tannadice as a regular in the reserves before making a dramatic first team debut, scoring a late winning goal.

He quickly became established as a first team regular and was recognised at international youth level, representing Scotland at Under 23 level. After two full seasons he left in October 1967 to join Aberdeen.

But seven niinutes from the end Frannie Munro, capped a promising debut, by steering in a header at the far post from a Johnny Graham cross, to secure a good start to the League Cup campaign.
