A product of United's youth academy, Rory signed his first professional contract in February 2022 and made his debut at age 16 years and 6 days to become United's youngest ever player. In 2024, he joined Southampton's under-21 side on a season-long loan. He was later sold to Dunfermline.

Biography

A graduate of United's youth academy, Rory joined the club at age six. He debuted for the U18s at the age of just fourteen, and became a mainstay within the set up over the next two years.

Having agreed a three year deal on December 23, 2021, Rory signed his first professional contract with the club on his 16th birthday the following year. Six days later he made his debut as a substitute to become the youngest ever player to represent United.

Having earned a call up to the Scotland under-16 squad in 2021, he has also attained international youth caps at under-17 and under-19 levels.

Following a brief period on loan at Forfar Athletic in late 2023, Rory agreed an initial one-season loan deal with Southampton, to join their under-21 squad, with an option to buy.

After returning from his loan spell he was sold to Championship side Dunfermline Athletic for an undisclosed fee.
