Having come through the youth ranks of his hometown club, Falkirk, Craig debuted at age 16 and remained with the Stirlingshire club for the next seven years, making 274 appearances during their time in the SPFL Championship. While with Falkirk, he won the Scottish Challenge Cup in 2012 and was capped by Scotland at U16 and U17 level.
Craig stepped up to the Premiership in the summer of 2018 with a move to Livingston, initially agreeing a two-year contract before signing an extension in January 2020. Overall, he spent four seasons at Almondvale, but his final season was curtailed by injury and illness due to Covid. He left the club as a free agent in the summer.
In July 2022, United announced that Craig had signed a two-year deal after he joined the club's pre-season training camp in Spain.
