Biography

A former Manchester United schoolboy, Liam progressed through the ranks at Old Trafford before signing his first professional contract in 2013. Having also represented England at under-18 level, he first spent a spell on loan at Morecambe, before making his pro debut on loan at Motherwell during the first half of the 2015-16 season.

In January 2016, he moved to Preston NE for an undisclosed fee and between limited chances for first team football, he spent a loan spell at Chesterfield. In August 2017, he returned to Motherwell on a permanent basis and went on to make over 100 appearances for the club, before leaving at the end of his contract in the summer of 2022.

Liam signed a short-term deal with Greenock Morton later that year and then extended his stay until the end of the 2022-23 campaign.

In June 2023, he signed a two-year deal to join United.
