Timeline

  • Signed For Dundee United

Peter signed from West End FC. A centre forward, he was converted to play centre half in the latter stages of season 1909-10. In his second season at Tannadice he was in the side that made Dundee Hibs’ Scottish League debut but his appearances were limited. He was released the end of 1910-11 and soon after signed for Dundee Wanderers.

  • Dundee Hibs were anxious to open their Second League programme with a win, and, although they lost to Leith Athletic by 3 goals to 2, the Hibs had no reason to feel ashamed of their performance. The spectators, of whom there was a large company, witnessed a rousing game. If Saturday's exhibition is a criterion of what is to be expected from the Tannadice Park team they should draw big crowds. There is merit in the Hibs' team. In some parts it is exceptionally good, but there are some weak spots to be remedied, and certainly greater attention to training is much to be desired. Before the game finished, several of the "wearers o' the green" were rather short of wind.

  • East Stirling ran out deserved 3-1 winders over Hibs at Merchiston Park, with a large crowd watching on. First blood went to East Stirling with Millan scoring a beauty after Thomson hadntwice brought Tullis to his knees. The latter player before the interval was successful in increasing the lead. After the interval Thomson and Millan continued to impress for the home side with Thomson eventually scoring a third. Hibs tried hard to get back into the match but the home side defended strongly. Before the end Hibs eventually pulled one back with Gibson netting.
