Biography
Kevin had been at Blackburn Rovers before playing as a forward for English amateur sides Weymouth and Carshalton Athletic. During his National Service he switched to full back, and he played in an Army match alongside United's Ron Yeats who recommended him to the club before he was signed in September 1960.
He featured regularly for United during the 1960-61 season but the arrival of new players forced him out of the line up for almost all of the following season. He was released at the end of the campaign and then signed for Southport.
Prior to his death in 2017, he lived in the Croston area, near Preston, having been in business as a market gardener for a number of years and after working at both Kirkham and Wymott prisons. (credit: Southport FPA)
