Biography
Alex had been with Third Lanark and began his United career with trials in the reserves before signing. He became a regular in the first eleven and in his first season, he was top scorer. In the next two campaigns he played mainly in the reserves. Released in May 1949,he moved to Northern Ireland to join Glentoran.
