Timeline

  • Signed For Dundee United

Signed from Dumbarton on a free transfer, Danny was a regular in the side in the first half of 1954-55. He then fell out of contention and was released at the end of the season to join Montrose.

  • Ayr United were also visitors to Tannadice to open the new season in the League Cup, but it was a far from happy start to the new campaign for Tannadice fans. Faced with three away fixtures following that opening game with Ayr, a victory was essential but it was Ayr who got off to the flying start and although, drawing at half-time, a goal by debutant Tom McLeod. who had previously played for Liverpool and Chesterfield. However, Ayr dominated the second-halfand went on to score five with George Grant scoring United's second.

  • A quite remarkable encounter as United slumped to another defeat in a troubled season. Yet it is doubtful if any United supporter envisaged defeat when the half-time whistle blew with United three goals ahead. Unfortunately, our county neighbours staged a staggering second half come-back and overhauled the three-goal lead to dump United into bottom position in the B Division.
