Ronnie was formerly with Rochdale, Exeter City and Brighton & Hove Albion. He joined United initially as a trialist before he was signed but within weeks, he was out of the side. At his own request, he was released in April 1955.
December 18th, 1954
Forfar Athletic 4 - 3 Dundee United
League (B Division)
Ronnie was born on this date in Glasgow.
A quite remarkable encounter as United slumped to another defeat in a troubled season. Yet it is doubtful if any United supporter envisaged defeat when the half-time whistle blew with United three goals ahead. Unfortunately, our county neighbours staged a staggering second half come-back and overhauled the three-goal lead to dump United into bottom position in the B Division.
