Biography

Jimmy had been with Third Lanark for several years and had international experience. He joined Dundee Hibs as Player/Manager and was first choice keeper until April 1924. Later, he had to return in one or two emergency situations.

Jimmy was Manager until April 1931 and took the Club (by then Dundee United) to promotion three times, twice as Second Division champions. He returned to manage the side again from March 1934 until October 1936.

Jimmy was appointed a Director of Dundee United and took on the role of Manager for a third time, jointly with Sam Irving, in August 1938 until the outbreak of WW2.
