Biography

Charlie had been with Middlesbrough, Notts County and Luton Town before WW2. During the war he had played with Arbroath, Aberdeen and United but was not with United for long. His work for thw war effort took him to North Shields in November 1945 and he was released to join the local side there as player/manager.
